Our Crew
Kristen
I am an architectural designer specializing in high-end residential and commercial projects. With a diverse background in architectural design gained through experiences ranging from single family residential, commercial, government, educational, and public works sectors, I offer a unique blend of expertise to each project I undertake.
Originally hailing from North Carolina, I recently returned to my roots after honing my craft in the vibrant landscape of New York City. My journey in architecture led me first to the University of New Mexico and then on to prestigious Taubman College at the University of Michigan, where I earned my Master’s of Architecture degree with honors in 2016. Equipped with this exceptional education, many years of experience, and a passion for design excellence, I am committed to bringing a sophisticated level of architectural innovation to my clients.
In my spare time, you can find me enjoying the company of my two rescue miniature schnauzers, perfecting my serve in pickleball, or indulging in creative pursuits like furniture making and concrete experimentation.
Kayla
As an award winning plan designer, I am more than capable of designing your new dream home. I work with industry standard design programs, such as Auto CAD and Sketch Up, to give you a design experience that is second to none. After graduating from Appalachian State University with a degree in interior design, I went on to design new custom homes and residential remodel projects for many clients in New Bern, North Carolina. I specialize in 3D and virtual reality design work and use cutting edge technology in everything I do. I help to add value and meaning to the design process as you see your new home before construction even begins.
Being a new mother keeps me very busy, but when I do have free time, my hobbies include being outdoors, playing with my dogs and spending time on the North Carolina coast.
Denaé
When I was a college student, I took a summer job working with animals at a local veterinary office. It was here, after one too many dog bites, that I decided I had a true passion for plants. I attended NC State University where I earned a degree in Horticulture and Landscape Design. I came away with a vast working knowledge of ornamental plants and design techniques. As I gained more experience in the green industry, I discovered that knowledge paired with the ability to visualize spaces gave my designs life. To take an area and make a cohesive, practical yet creative space for individuals to live, work, and enjoy is something that I truly relish.
After college, I married my high school sweetheart and started a family – 2 boys, a cat, and a golden retriever. Because my husband owns a residential construction firm, I have spent many years working in not only landscape design, but home design and interior design as well. I have an extensive knowledge of residential design, construction and landscaping. Armed with the aforementioned triple threat, I am confident that I can create beautiful, livable spaces for my clients to enjoy.
